On our way home from Louisville, we stopped at the zoo. Grandma Nancy drove down from Daleville, to spend the day with us! We all had a great time!

A Walk Along the Ohio River
Monday evening we took Noah in the stroller, for a walk along the river. First, we had some dinner at Joe's Crab Shack, then we went on down the riverwalk to see what we could find. There were kids playing in the fountains, people walking their dogs, taking romantic strolls, riding bikes and surreys, and flying kites. The weather was beautiful, and we had such a nice family time!

The Hotel Stay
We stayed in The Galt House Hotel, which is directly across the street from where the Belle of Louisville is docked. It worked out great because after our 2 hour river cruise, we were all exhausted! The hotel was nice and there were plenty of things to see inside: elevators, fountains, aviaries, aquariums, cyclists, and tall volleyball girls (ask me about this sometime--it made our stay a little more interesting!).

A Ride on the Belle of Louisville
When Jeff found out last Thursday, that he would unexpectedly have 5 days off in a row, we began searching for a mini-vacation spot. We settled on Louisville, Kentucky. Just a short drive west on I-64, and there we were! The first thing we did while in town, was to go for a ride on the Belle of Louisville. It was so much fun watching Noah take in all the sights and sounds! He loved looking at the boats on the river, and waving at the people. We were really surprised when he noticed the "visibility balls" on the power lines! He kept looking up at them and saying, "Oh, ooohh, ahhh!" Too cute!

Look, Ma!
He's using a spoon! This was the first time he's ever used a spoon to feed himself! I was amazed at how careful he was...however, right after I shut off the camera....things started to get REAL messy!! What a big boy!

One Great Daddy!!
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads!
I especially want to celebrate Jeff today, and thank him for being such a wonderful Da-da!! Noah always gets so excited to see Daddy, and the two of them have so much fun together!

Thanks, Jeff, for being a fantastic Daddy, and for taking such great care of our family!

Good Morning Sunshine!!
I love it when I hear happy sounds coming through the monitor in the morning! I go upstairs to find Noah playing in his crib. When he sees me, he'll smile and holler at me, and then peek at me through the slats of his crib. He doesn't want me to take him out of the crib, he just wants to sit in there and play for a while!

Lexington Legends vs. Asheville Tourists
Last night we took Noah to his first professional sporting event...a Lexington Legends baseball game! We went with our friends Uly and Kim, and their two kids, Lexie and Jonah. It was a great game to go to, because the Asheville Tourists were in town! Since we lived in Asheville for 2 years, and Noah was born there, we were kinda pulling for the Tourists. The Tourists played a great game! It was almost a no hitter. (Though, I have to admit, I spent the entire time talking to Kim, so I didn't see much of the game!) The weather was great, the hot dogs were 25 cents, and you just can't beat a baseball game in the summer! It was really fun!
Jeff and Uly took the kids over to see the Legends' mascots, and tried to get a few pictures. Well, as you can tell from the pics...Noah did NOT like the mascots! :)

I love how Jeff's representing Asheville as he stands next to Lexington's mascot!

Our 4th Anniversary!
It hardly seems possible, but Jeff and I are approaching our 4th wedding anniversary! (June 18) To celebrate, we decided to plan an overnight trip, and have someone stay at our house with Noah. It would be our first overnight trip without him! I was a little nervous to say the least! However, it was a terrific opportunity for me to grow in trusting God with my little one. Mamaw and Papaw agreed to come stay with him, and we made our getaway plans!Mamaw let us borrow her convertible, and we cruised on in to downtown Lexington for the evening. We ate dinner at deSha's and meandered around downtown for a while. Then we stayed at the Campell House for the night. It's an historic hotel, and it was a really neat place to stay. Our room ended up being right next to an outside entrance, so it was almost like we had our own private door. The pool was just down the hall from us, and the restaurant was around the corner. The next morning we got to SLEEEEEEPPPP IN!!! I think that was the most exciting part for me! :) (Even though we got up at 8:30 a.m., it still felt amazing to not have any responsibilities for the moment!) We had breakfast in the room, took our time getting ready, and then stopped by the Farmer's Market on our way home. We had a great time, and felt completely refreshed!

Thanks to Mamaw, Papaw, and Trystan for taking such great care of Noah for us! He had a great time, and he's been asking for you guys! ;)Friday, June 5, 2009
Rockin' Out!
Here's a video of Noah's favorite activity right now...
He seems to have some rhythm...I wonder who he gets that from?!?! :)

Three Brothers Play Ball
All 3 of Jason and Tara's oldest boys wound up on the same Little League baseball team this year! This worked out great for them, (since they wouldn't have to be running around to two different practices/games all the time) and Jason was able to help coach!

Mamaw and Papaw came up last evening to watch the boys play in the tournament. (This was potentially their last game of the season if they didn't win.) I took Noah, and we all had a great time being outside and watching the game.
And, it won't be their last game, because they won!! It was a nail-biter, but they pulled it off! Taylan was awarded the game ball...he was so proud!
