Cousin Charlie's 1st Birthday Bash!

Today, Noah and I traveled to Cincinnati for Charlie's 1st birthday! It was a great party, and lots of loved ones came to be with the Swendimans on this special occasion! There was food, presents, and people, but my favorite part was definitely Charlie's first taste of CAKE!

Yummy!

Stair Master

Yes, he has done it...Noah learned how to climb the stairs!! This is a very exciting new skill, and he wants to practice it every chance he gets! We, however, do not want to put the baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. These gates must be mounted (with screws) into the wall and woodwork, and considering we're hoping to move soon...well, it may not be worth the trouble. So for now, Mommy has to watch little man like a hawk! I bet you can imagine what I've been doing the past few days...:)

Father & Son Haircut Day

Jeff and I took Noah for his 1st professional haircut yesterday. I had tried to do it a couple times at home, just a trim here and a trim there...but I was never able to do a very good job. Mostly because Noah would put his hands up by his head or twist around suddenly or duck away or cry. So since Jeff had the day off, and was already planning a haircut for himself, I thought it would be great to all go together! (and then my hands would be free to take pictures!)

Before--Nice and happy on Daddy's lappy!

Ummm, what's she doing to me?!?!

HELP ME!!

Almost finished....

After--Don't they look handsome?

Yeah, I know, you can't really see Noah's new do, but trust me--it looks great! I can just imagine what Noah was thinking, "All finished! Yay! Outside where that lady can't get me anymore! Oh, look at that bird!"

VROOMMMMM....

Jeff was off from work yesterday, and spent the whole morning with Noah! Meanwhile, I was at Life Group in Lexington. This morning, Noah started making car noises....hmmm, I wonder if Daddy taught him that? :)

Sidenote: Notice the new standing skills!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

Today was Grandpa Don's 60th birthday!! We traveled up to Daleville, to spend the weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's house. Jerry and Luc made the trip up too, because Luc's Grandma Bertie was also celebrating her 75th birthday today! The Mowrey's (Luc's family) all live in Tennessee, and had planned to surprise Bertie, by coming to Daleville unannounced! It was a really fun weekend, and great to see family!!

Of course, we couldn't go to Indiana without eating at Pizza King! This was the first time that Noah was able to join us in the culinary goodness!!
We had a pretty large group of people that were able to join us for pizza on Sunday....Don, Nancy, Renee, Uncle Steve, Aunt Eleanor, Uncle Danny, Aunt Karen, Immer, Denise, and Sharon. (Dennis and Judy Neal also stopped by for a bit.) Sharon is 9 months old, and I think Noah thought she was pretty cute!! :)

They kept trying to share food and holding hands! It was so adorable!

Something Worth Standing Up For!

Noah turned 13 months old today! As many of you know, he hasn't been too interested in pulling himself up to stand. He's very content to sit and play with his toys, and he's developed an interesting sort of scoot/crawl that gets him from place-to-place. So we've been wondering if he would find anything that would motivate him to stand...Up to this point, he's been just sitting in front of the toy box occasionally pulling himself up onto his knees to peer over the side. I'm the one that has been getting the toys out for him...which, since he can't tell me what toy he wants, can be a bit frustrating for both of us.
Look what he just started doing! It's so great that he finally figured out how to stand up and get the toys for himself! Yay, Noah!!
P.S. He's got two teeth trying to come through on the top! I noticed them tonight right before he went to bed.

Lake Cumberland

Today was Noah's first trip to Lake Cumberland! We had such a great time! While Jeff was tubing, Noah and I went swimming with our cousins--my cousin Danny, his wife Emily, and their little guy Sean. The boys had a blast playing in the water! At first, Noah wasn't real sure what to think about the whole thing. But I think seeing another baby enjoying it, helped him to loosen up. Sean was making motor boat noises (he was so cute)! By the end, Noah was relaxed enough to kick back and float around with me!

I only had a few pictures, because we were only there for the day. These pictures give you such a small glimpse into the fun that was had by all! Oh, and they definitely don't show who the ALL was: Uncle Danny, Aunt Karen, Scott, Betsy, Timmy, Michael, Allen, Danny, Emily, Sean, Tim, Hannah, My Parents, Jason, Tara, Trystan, Tayman, Taylan, Teagan, Andy, Jessie, Josiah, Jeff, Noah, and me! (I also need to mention that there were two expectant mothers in the bunch--Betsy and Hannah.) I think that's everyone!
